The town has developed in the Middle Ages and preserved itself almost intact in its original urban structure. The old town is indeed rich in medieval buildings: among the others there are the Old Town Hall, the Fortress and the Church of Saint Mary.

Bibbona has a direct outlet on the sea, where is located its marina, with 4 km of sandy beaches.
A landmark in the marina both for tourists and locals is the Grand Duke’s Fortress dating back to the eighteenth century. The fortress was build directly on the beach as military outpost of surveillance and defense of the population. Today the fortress is the main symbol of Marina di Bibbona.
